2009 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini: Ornament Punch & Holiday Best

I'm just lovin' Stampin' Up!'s new Ornament Punch (from the 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog)!  When it came out, one of the first things I thought of using it with was the Level One Hostess stamp set, Holiday Best.  I know that seems odd, but I really liked the Merry Christmas bird image and didn't relish the thought of cutting it out.  Well, I gave it a try.  Voila, it fits perfectly!

Isn't it gorgeous, (if I do say so myself)!

This card features two techniques:

1) Faux Diamond Dust:  I colored the "Merry Christmas Bird" image with Real Red & Old Olive markers.  Then covered the entire image with Versamark.  Heat emboss with Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  Then punch with Ornament punch (#116794, $15.95).

2) Foil Paper Resist:  Brayer Old Olive ink over the Bridal Speciality Paper (#115669, $13.95 for 5 of 2 designs).  The foil design will resist the ink.  Wipe off with a tissue.

  1. I love that image also and that is a great idea to use it with the ornament punch. Also love how you did the Bridal Specialty paper. I just may have to try that myself. Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. I love that card! It has so many wonderful details. Love how the sentiment fits in our new punch, and I love how you can brayer the specialty paper to make it any color you want. Definitely a selling point for me…
