Welcome to Day #5 of my Creative Connections presentation of Darling Details Bundle. Today I’m sharing a card that features the super cute “ribbon border” die.
Of the many reasons I was drawn to the Darling Details Bundle, was the “ribbon border” die. It really caught my eye. I thought it was charming and cute. Let me tell you…it did not disappoint. I love it!
How’d She DO That? Ribbon Border Birthday card
- Stamps/Bundle: Darling Details Bundle (includes dies)
- Paper:
- Parakeet Party (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base)
- Basic White (2-3/4″ x 5-1/2, scrap for punch)
- Basic Black (two of 1″ x 5-1/2″ – one for die cutting ribbon border – see tips below)
- Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Poppy Parade, Parakeet Party, Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight
- Other: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick, Double Oval Punch, 1/8″ Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon , Classic Matte Dots. Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

DOstamping Tips for Ribbon Border Die:
- I recommend using a 1″ x 6″ strip of cardstock when die cutting the ribbon border die shape. The die is actually thinner than 1″, but you’ll enjoy the extra area for adhesive.
- For ribbon selection, it works best with 1/4″, but you can also use 1/8″ (see my suggestions below)
- Also – I found the “stiffer” the ribbon, the easier it was to thread through the die cut. Maybe use a needle to thread the Metallic Woven Ribbon (2022-2024 In Colors) – that would help.
- For pattern ribbon, I found that flipping the die cut over to the back side will show off the pattern better, so give that a try. (see black/white 1/4″ gingham ribbon at the top of the photo)
