Day #3 of Sweet Days of Autumn: September Interlocking Gatefold Card

Welcome back to Day #3 of my Week of Sweet Days of Autumn.  I'm sharing inspiration for the new Sweet Days of Autumn products from the Scrapbooking Brochure.

You know I had to make a fun fold card – as they are some of my favorite style of cards. This one is called a Interlocking Gatefold Card.

This card would be great for September milestone birthdays, September wedding or anniversary or more!

How'd She DO That? September Interlocking Gatefold card

• Stamps: Autumn to Remember
• Paper:
  • Crumb Cake (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base – score at 2-1/8 & 6-3/8" fold ends to meet in the center = gatefold) 
  • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4" inside, 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" pattern stamping, 1-3/4" x 3-3/4" for sentiment) 
  • Cajun Craze (two of 1-5/8" x 4", 2" x 4" for sentiment)
  • Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper (scraps for two different colored Nested Essentials small banners)
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Nested Essentials Dies, Linen Thread, Faux Glass Dots , Stampin' Seal, Mini Glue Dots

You might be thinking that some of the panels are printed pattern paper, but they are not.  With a closer look, you'll see that I stamped those panels.  I really enjoy making my own designs by mixing and matching stamping images and create my own patterns.  See below for my tips.

DOstamping Tips:

• On 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" white piece, use Autumn to Remember stamp set to stamp the diagonal pattern.   
  • Use small maple leaf (Cajun Craze & Crushed Curry inks) and border (Pecan Pie).
  • Note: rotate leaf images to make them appear like they are falling.  
• Cut stamped piece in half to create two 1-3/8" x 3-3/4" pieces.  Adhere to 1-5/8" x 4" Cajun Craze pieces.
• On 1-3/4" x 3-3/4" which piece, stamp sentiment.  Adhere to 2" x 4" Cajun Craze piece.
• Arrange all three stamped pieces onto folded gatefold card as shown.  Adhere top & bottom pieces first, to LEFT side only.  Then adhere center piece to RIGHT side only.
• Use glue dots to adhere DSP banner die cuts to back of center panel.  Tie linen thread into a bow and adhere to banners.
• Finish with my favorite Faux Glass Dots.

Bring some of the stamping to the corner of the inside panel – cute, huh?
