It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a Sketch challenge.
When I saw this week's challenge (several month's ago) – I fell in love with the simple layout. I knew I would use Designer Series Paper as the main panel and probably some kind of flower. With the release of the New Botanical Gardens Collection – I knew right away this layout would be perfect for it. Take a look…
I'm right, right? Stunning! The beautiful flower is paired with the new Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (3-1/4" x 4-1/2"). With a strip of Basic Black cardstock (4-1/2" x 5/8") going down the left side – it shows off the flower just perfectly. Adhere it all to an Old Olive card base and everything just pops!
The greeting…that's from the new Rose Wonder stamp set, which is filled with not only gorgeous flower images, but beautiful greetings too (also comes in a bundle Rose Wonder Bundle with coordinating Thinlit Dies (140804).
True confessions time…I have to admit, when I first used the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies at the Milwaukee On Stage Event, I wasn't a huge fan. That flower with the cut out petal centers really wasn't doing it for me. So today I played a little bit with sponge daubers and ink (Cajun Craze, Old Olive). That gave the flower and leaves a little bit of depth and aah…now, I'm lovin' it! Just that little detail added so much. Definitely get yourself some sponge daubers and give it a whirl.
What's that in the center of the flower? It's a White Perfect Accent colored with a black Sharpie Marker. The perfect touch (ha, get it…Perfect Accents, perfect touch. oh, never mind…lol). I was giddy with excitement when I adhered it to the flower…love it when things work out as you see them in your head.
And yes, Stampin' Up! has a bundle of these Botanical Garden products for you. However, it is a little bit different of a bundle, and more exciting as it contains three products!

I knew I should have bought that crazy Botanical Builder! Love the card Dawn…
Gorgeous, Dawn, you really nailed it.
I love the pop a little sponging in the middle of the flower makes…
Dawn, your card is absolutely beautiful! I especially like the sponging on the flower and the black cardstock strip on the DSP. I am looking forward to getting my goodies next week and making some lovely cards. Thanks for sharing.
The more samples I see with that set….yikes…love it!!!
Thank you everyone! I’m glad you’re enjoying the card. It was fun to create!
From Pat…
Ok Dawn, you’ve done it again. This is by far the best card I’ve seen using this set. In fact, its the only card I’ve seen that I like! It is spectacular!!! I didn’t care for this set, the framelits or the dsp. I thought all the cards I was seeing were way too gaudy & busy. After seeing your card, I just might have to reconsider this set!! I just love, love, love your style!
Feel free to put this comment in if there’s a comment section on your blog…I’m just responding from your email. I have to say, I get excited when I see there’s an email from you….but your not good for my addiction…lol.
I love, love, love this card! The colors, the layout, the flower and leaves, it all makes me SO glad I bought this bundle! I can’t wait to try my hand at this. Thanks for your inspiration, so many times!
