Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree - Dawn Olchefske #dostamping #stampinup

Embossed Resist Glitter Trees

TIPS before starting:

  1. Mix Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter together to get a glittery embossing powder.
  2.  Create “masking template”:
    • Temporarily adhere a 2-3/8″  x 4″ piece of scrap cardstock in the very center of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of scrap cardstock (I used crumb cake).
    • Trace around it, then remove it.  Use the tracing lines to cut out the center of the cardstock.
    • Now the crumb cake piece will have a “window” for you to use for stamping and sponging.

Instructions:

  1. Cover 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White with masking template.  Stamp trees in the center with Versamark ink.  Then remove mask.  Cover with the “clear & glitter” embossing powder, tap off excess, then melt with Heat tool.  Let cool.
  2. Cover with mask template again.  Use Stampin’ Sponges to add color in a circular motion.  Soft Sky ink around the edges and Dapper Denim ink around the trees. Remove mask and adhere to folded card base.
  3. Stamp greeting (from Christmas Happiness) with Dapper Denim ink on Whisper White 1-3/8″ Stitched Shapes Framelits Circle.  Adhere to 1-1/2″ Circle punched from Dapper Denim cardstock.
  4. Add Silver Metallic Thread to back of greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhere to card.

Polished Stone with a Wink

Polished-Stone-Supplies

Instructions:

  1. Create Polished Stone background as follows:
  2. Moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.
  3. Add three drops, in a “triangle” formation onto the cotton ball of each of the following:  Wisteria Wonder ink refill, Pool Party ink refill & Clear Wink of Stella (for the Wink of Stella, squeeze the tube hard to get “drops”.
  4. On 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Glossy cardstock, pounce cotton ball all over to cover the entire piece.  As you pounce, don’t get too worried about what it looks like, the “pooled” ink will start to move around and the finished dry look will be beautiful.  Though, no two pieces will look alike.  While the cotton ball is still full of ink, do a second panel.  (this panel will be much lighter than the first)
  5. Let dry (maybe 5-10 minutes)

Panel

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats & Celebrations Duo Folder created by Dawn Olchefske for DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #DSC229 #dostamping

High Tide Landscaping card (with Masking Technique)

I chose this stamp set because several of my club members purchased it, but didn’t know how to use it.  It’s an easy stamp set to use as Stampin’ Up! has done all of the art-work for us with their beautiful landscaping images that fit together so nicely.   For my class, I laid out all of the images with it’s inkpad and we stamped it step-by-step.  I found that the easiest way to use this stamp set.  I think once you try it, you’ll be able to create lots of great cards with it!

Instructions:
  • On 4″ x 5″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp images in the following order
    1. Sand = Sahara Sand
    2. Full Lighthouse = Cherry Cobbler – stamp off first.  (ALSO, create a “mask” by stamp a second lighthouse on a sticky note…make sure part of the image lands where there is “sticky” underneath it.  Cut it out, just a smidgen inside the shape. Save for step #8)
    3. Partial Lighthouse = Cherry Cobbler
    4. Light Beams = Daffodil Delight (stamp in once direction, flip image and stamp in other direction)
    5. Greeting = Memento Tuxedo Black
    6. Birds in lower right = Memento Tuxedo Black
    7. Birds in upper left = Smokey Slate
    8. Water = Night of Navy (place the mask over lighthouse) – stamp once on left side over the mask, then stamp the right side.  You’ll notice the image is designed for the stamping to connect…brilliant).  Remove mask.
    9. Grass = Pear Pizzazz
  • Adhere 1/2″ x 4-1/4″ strips (Crushed Curry & Cherry Cobbler) to top and bottom of folded Night of Navy card base.
  • Adhere stamped panel to center of card.
  • Stamp as desired on 4″  x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla panel and adhere to inside of card.
