Welcome to DOstamping Sale-a-Bration Inspiration – Day #6!
Today I'm sharing a card I did for my DOstamping@Home Club last month, featuring the herringbone technique using the FREE Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper.
How'd She DO That? Toadstool Herringbone card
- Stamps/Bundles: NEW Terrific Toadstools Bundle- includes punch
- Paper:
- Melon Mambo (5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base)
- Basic White (3-1/4" x 4-1/2", scrap for 2" Circle Punch & small "cap")
- Adhesive Sheet (3-1/4" x 4-1/2")
- Granny Apple Green (3-1/2" x 4-3/4", scrap for 2-3/8" Circle Punch)
- Fresh Freesia (1/2" x 1" for sentiment)
- Toadstool Gardens 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (six 5/8" x 5-1/2" strips – two of three patterns) – FREE with $60 order (SAB)
- Ink: Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia, Early Espresso
- Other: 2" Circle Punch, 2-3/8" Circle Punch, Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins (FREE with $60 order – SAB), Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals
DOstamping Tips:
- Remove backing from one side of Adhesive Sheet and attach to Basic White panel. Then remove front backing of adhesive sheet.
- Create herringbone pattern
- Take 1 strip of each of the three patterns and start to adhere them down at an angle starting in the upper right corner. Trim off excess from edges.
- Take three more strips and adhere them down at an angle in the upper left corner, bumping up to the strips from step a. Trim off excess from edges.
- Take three more strips and adhere them down at an angle in the upper left corner, bumping up to the strips from step b & a – all the way to the lower right corner. Trim off excess from edges.
- Take three more pieces (may have to cut straight edges from the trimmed excess pieces) and adhere them down at an angle bumping up to the strips from step c – all the way to the lower left corner. Trim off excess from edges.
- Use extra pieces to fill adhere at an angle bumping up to the strips from step d. Trim off excess from edges.
- Adhere completed herringbone panel to Granny Apple Green panel and then to folded card base.
