Gallery Blooms: Crafting Magic with Partial Die Cutting!

Today I’m sharing a gorgeous handmade card using the Gallery Blooms Bundle.

When it comes to celebrating love and happiness that lasts a lifetime, sometimes words aren’t enough. That’s where a handcrafted card steps in—and this Gallery Blooms Bundle one is brimming with heart, texture, and style.

Designed with care, this card combines a variety of crafting techniques to create something truly magical and memorable:

  • Embossed Florals: Petal Pink cardstock sets the stage with subtle, raised blooms that invite touch and add timeless charm using the Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder.
  • Bold Stamped Imagery: The rich Flirty Flamingo floral image, stamped and tied with twine, bring a rustic and romantic touch that feels warm and personal.
  • Layered Detail: A strip of the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper along the edge adds contrast and visual interest
  • Creative Framing:  Enlist the Partial Die Cutting Technique to create a charming peek-through illusion that frames the stamped florals in a way that feels layered, dimensional, and totally one-of-a-kind (see DOstamping Tips below).

How’d She DO That? Love & Happiness card

DOstamping Tips:

  • On right edge of folded card base, partially stamp the floral image with Flirty Flamingo ink as shown.  Adhere DSP strip to left edge.
  • Adhere textured Petal Pink panel to Flirty Flamingo panel, then without adhering, position in the center of the card.
  • Partial Die Cutting:
    • Place matching floral shape die (Gallery Blooms Dies) onto right edge of card, lining up the die with the stamped image (with left edge over textured panel).
    • While holding die tightly in place over the textured panel and stamped image, use a pencil to lightly trace the INSIDE of the die that covers the textured panel only.
    • Remove textured panel from card and place onto cutting plates.  Reposition left edge of die onto textured panel right edge traced image).
    • Use washi or masking tape to secure only right edge of die to cutting plates (to ensure it doesn’t shift) and die cut.
    • Viola – a customized border matching the floral edge.  Adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment on scrap and die cut with Nested Essentials rectangle die #2.  Then partial die cut again to make it a 1-1/2″ square.

Don’t forget the inside of the card.  This card is going to my husband’s niece’s on her wedding day this fall.  I think she’s gonna love it, especially since it was handmade special for them.

Whether you’re a seasoned stamper or just dabbling in cardmaking, this project reminds us of the power of layered textures and thoughtful design. With each element chosen purposefully, the result is a card that speaks louder than store-bought could ever dream of.
