Masked Sentiment Meets Petals of Beauty

Today I’m sharing a soft, artistic card that highlights a clever way to let a sentiment shine—the masked sentiment technique. Paired with the gorgeous Petals of Beauty florals from the Brushed With Beauty Suite Collection, this simple approach creates a clean focal point while still giving you room to play with color and texture.

• I also enlisted the stamping off technique to build a layered collage of blooms that feels light, airy, and full of movement.
• It’s an easy way to add depth without overwhelming the design, and it works beautifully with this suite’s watercolor‑style images.

💡DOstamping Tips: Masked Sentiment Technique

• On white panel, temporarily adhere ¾” x 4” strip over “sentiment area”.
• Stamp over & under masked area with the following stamps/inks:
  • solid flower = Calypso Coral stamped off
  • detail flower = Calypso Coral
  • solid flower cluster = Highland Heather stamped off
  • detail flower cluster = Highland Heather
  • leaf = Old Olive
    • NOTE: I cut my leaf stamp in “half” – one stamp has one leaf, which I used for this card, and the other one has two leaves – this gives you more versatility with your stamps. Plus, you can always mount them together for the full complete image
• I love how this technique lets the sentiment take center stage while still giving you a beautiful burst of color around it.
