I really wanted to play around with the Modern Garden stamp set to make a Christmas Wreath card. I so happy with the way it turned out. The light sponging added a soft touch and brought the wreath together nicely.
How'd She DO That? Modern Garden Christmas Wreath card
- Stamps/Bundles: Modern Garden Bundle – includes punch
- Paper:
- Garden Green (4-1/4" x 11" card base)
- Poppy Parade (4" x 5-1/4")
- Azure Afternoon (3-7/8" x 5-1/8", scrap for sentiment punch)
- Ink: Poppy Parade, Garden Green Petal Pink
- Other: Small Blending Brushes, Blooming Pearls, Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack, Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots
DOstamping Tips:
- On the white panel, start by stamping the large poinsettia with Poppy Parade ink, four times.
- I positioned the sentiment punch out where I wanted it (don't adhere), then eyeballed where to stamp the top & bottom, and right & left side flowers.
- Then use the small poinsettia set stamp twice without reinking – filling in between each of the large flowers.
- Then use Small Blending Brush to add Petal Pink around the entire wreath, going a little bit outside the edges. I just want a soft look, but you can use more ink for a darker look.
- Finish stamping leaves with Garden Green ink (some stamped-off). Then stamp largest "dot" with Petal Pink – in flower centers and around the wreath as shown.
- On white scrap stamp sentiment with Garden Green ink and punch out. Use blending brush to sponge ink onto the edges of the punch out. Then adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
