Stamping with the STARS #446: Floral Charm Suite Birthday Card

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts446.  Today it’s our pleasure share another Sketch Inspiration with you.

I’m behind on this, because last week was a very busy week filled with a super fun 3-Day Virtual Album Retreat, making photo boards for my grandson, Max’s Saturday grad party, and his last marching band parade on Sunday.   No time to squeeze in anymore crafting.

And even though today is a “catch up” day, I did squeeze in time to craft – yay!

I’ve had the Online Exclusive Floral Charm Suite on my mind for this month’s sketch and I’m lovin’ the way it turned out!

How’d She DO That? Floral Charm Birthday card

• Stamps/Bundles: Charming Day Bundle – includes dies
• Paper:
  • Misty Moonlight (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base, scrap for flower/stem die cut)
  • Basic White (4″ x 5-1/4″, 3/4″ x 2-5/8″ sentiment strip)
  • Bubble Bath (scrap for flower/stem die cut)
  • Floral Charm Designer Series Paper (1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ in two coordinating patterns)
• Ink: Misty Moonlight, Berry Burst
• Other:  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Sponge Dauber, Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots, Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

• For the floral die cuts:
  • To the Bubble Bath die cut, add Berry Burst ink by using Sponge Dauber and scratch paper (or sticky note)
  • Slip scratch paper under the “slits” in the flower and add color (Berry Burst ink) on the tips of the flower petals with the Sponge Dauber.
    • Tip:  after you ink up the sponge dauber, remove lots of the ink to get a lighter/softer color, or it will be really dark.
  • Then add ink to outside edges of flower with sponge dauber.
• Adhere both floral die cuts together only at the flower (not stem or leaves).  Then “weave” the leaves around each other.  Adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (under flower only, as sentiment will hold down the stem).

When I showed my husband this card, he said, “That would be a card I would have sent to my mom”.  Which is a high complement!
