What do you get when you cross Stampin' Up! Designer Frames Texture Folder with any other Texture Folder? You get…Double Texture Embossing! It sounded like I was going to tell a joke at first, didn't it? He he!
Well – it's no joke. This Double Texture Embossing Technique is awesome and easy! I just know you're gonna love it.
First, here's today's card, which uses a couple new products including, Fancy Fan Folder and World Treasures stamp set…a perfect match!
This picture doesn't do the card justice. In real life – it's gorgeous! Plus, Summer Starfruit is starting to grow on me. I really like it paired with Midnight Muse!

Double Texture Embossing Technique Tips
1. Use Fancy Fan Texture Embossing folder to add texture to Whisper White cardstock. Leave area at the bottom unembossed – for stamping.
2. Use rectangle from Designer Frames Embossing Folders to add second texture over first texture.
Watch the video below for tips, particularly for step 2. In addition, the video includes a bonus project. The Autumn Day's Father's Day card from last week. So watch until the end to see the Double Texture Embossing Twist!

Thanks for the neat video-love both cards especially the pheasant with the tail out of the frame-neat!
Neat cards! Adding the bling to the pheasant looks terrific and enhances the card so much. THANKS for the video. Nice job, as always. 🙂
It is a wonderful technique tutorial, I can’t wait to try, thanks for the sharing.
Thanks for sharing this technique, Dawn. You make it look easy. I can’t wait to try it!
Oh Dawn, great cards and tutorial! Thanks for sharing this double embossing technique. I’ll have to try it.
Wow – I can’t wait to get the new catalogue & try this out – only a few more months till we get it here in NZ. I SO love checking out your blog. Thanks so much for sharing your wondeful talent with us.
Great job, Dawn, as always!!!
This technique is so awesome & cool!!! Love your card designs as well. Xx
Thank you for the awesome tutorial. You are such an inspiration!
Can’t wait to try this technique.
Thank you for your lesson. I’ll be making shims today! You do beautiful work.
I have two questions, did you use SU chipboard to make your shims? I used the SU chipboard and the shims did not seem to be thick enough because the other embossing showed through. Any idea on what could be wrong? Also I could not run the embossing folder through with the Multipurpose platform on tab 2, again any idea on what I am doing wrong? Thank you so much for all you do I love your site!
Janet –
you may be using the wrong sandwich. There isn’t a cutting pad on the bottom for that step.
This is super!! I posted a link with picture on my blog, I hope that is ok by you (if not, please let me know!). I do not have an embossingframe yet, but will get one as soon as possible!! Bye, Anne-Marie
Great video, Dawn! I have done this another way (see my DBWS camp projects for November, coincidentally), but your way is much more simple and just as effective. TFS once again.
Love this Dawn! Thanks for sharing 🙂
