DOstamping Celebrates Day #3: Love & Care Framed Lined Notecard Video

Yes, I know…Day #3 is late.  My day completely got away from me and since there was the Control Freaks tour yesterday…I gave myself permission to let it slide.  Wow, that is so unlike me.  But it's good for me to let go sometimes.  Ok – that's too much information for you :).  Let's get on with the celebrating!

On to day #3 of our DOcelebration! Today's card took another cue from YOU my readers.  Remember DOcelebration Day#1?  I asked you, "What is your favorite new Stampin' Up! In-Color?"  Well, over 100 people shared their favorite (yes, I read them all.  I always read all my comments).  It sounds like for many of you, your favorite new color is the same as mine…Wisteria Wonder.  However, I was suprised at the number of people who said Calypso Coral was their favorite.  I have to admit, that it is my least favorite.  In fact, I hadn't even opened my inkpad yet.  The horrors!!  So, what do you think I did?  Yes – I opened up my pad and got stamping!  Take a look…

Love & Care Hand Drawn Framed Notecard

Love-&-Care2
I needed to make a large number of Thank You cards for customer orders and product share customers this month.  I really wanted to use my favorite Stampin' Up! hostess stamp set "Love & Care" (from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog ending August 31st).  So I combined it with Calypso Coral (and Lucky Limeade) and it didn't turn out half bad.

Most times my stamping style is what I call "middle of the road".  But I also like clean and simple stamping too.  And this simple one-layer notecard fits the bill.  What I like best about this card is the hand-drawn frame that was done with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  I was inspired by a few other cards I had seen that had a hand-drawn frame.  For mine, I created my own template and I did a "quick tip" video to show you how I did it (includes tips for the frame, clear block positioning and huffing).

To watch a how-to demonstration…

Anyways, I love your style and appreciate all the time you put into creating sayyid il, reproduceable cards! Thank you 🙂

    18. Dawn, I’m a newbie to stamping, so I’m probably considered middle of the road, as all the designs, stamps, and inks help me plan ideas. Sometimes it takes me longer to plan the design than it does to make it! Thanks for the chance to win a great stamp set; really like the idea of the separated flowers and stems to be able to stamp and color wildly.

I do love the simplistic design of your thank you cards. I may have to try my hand at a hand drawn frame. It really does add something.

    26. Guess I’m a combination of clean and simple and middle of the road. Clean and simple cards can be so classy especially when its muted flowers (almost a watercolor style). 104. Hi Dawn,
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous card. I love that it is clean and simple. Sometimes I put so much onto my cards that the stamped image gets lost in the embellishments, and I remember that it’s the clean and simple cards that really show off the stamp. I guess I’m a bit of a mixture.
      Hugs, Anne.

    105. I’m most definitely a clean and simple, but I always have to have something to pop off the card…and always a ribbon/bow. I rarely make just “flat” cards. I love your thank you cards…If my flat cards looked that stunning, I’d be okay with that! LOL TFS

    110. I think I’m middle of the road. I love CAS cards, but don’t necessarily do well at their designing. I do definitely know that I’m not at the other end of the spectrum. I don’t ever do cards with the huge bows, tons of embellies, etc. Makes the cards top heavy. I can enjoy looking at them, but I stick more with the less is more philosophy. Thank you for entering me in the contest.

    138. I tend to be more clean and simple. While I love the look of over the top – I don’t have the patience for it. I usually start with an idea with lots on it – then when I’m finished…it is a much scaled down version to just get it finished.
BTW – love this card! I really love the framed look.

I don’t tend to do 1 layer cards, although the last time I tried it (yep, many moons ago!!) was with the 2 way blossoms hostess set which was done in a very similar style to your card here.
