Fall into Autumn Celebration Week – Day 1

Welcome, friends! I’m excited to kick off my newly refreshed blog with a 🍂 Fall into Autumn Celebration Week! Each day, I’ll be sharing a seasonal card, creative tips, and a little something to spark your crafting joy. Plus, the week will end with some giveaways.

Let’s start off with a classic autumn icon…a maple leaf. This card is filled with layering love, texture and thankfulness. Also, it was inspired by a previous card I made that I turned into a sketch (see below).

✂️How’d She DO That? Thankful Card

    • Stamps/Bundles: Gathering Moments Bundle – includes dies
    • Paper:
      • Basic Beige(8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base, scrap for Stylish Shapes label die cut)
      • Cajun Craze (4-1/4″ square – add texture with embossing folder for leaf die cut)
      • Gathering Together Designer Series Paper (1″ x 5-1/2″, 3/4″ x 5-1/2″)
    • Ink:  Early Espresso
    • Other:  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder, Stylish Shapes Dies, Early Espresso & Old Olive Linen Thread Pack, Cajun Craze & Gold Dots, Stampin’ Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin’ Dimensionals

    🎨 Design Details That Delight

    • Layer with Purpose:
      • When layering elements, think about contrast and cohesion.
      • Mix textures like smooth cardstock with embossed or die-cut shapes.
      • Use stitched edges or twine to add tactile charm and warmth.
      • And don’t be afraid to let one bold element (like a leaf or sentiment) take center stage.

    1. I love that card! I wasn’t sure how to use those big leaf dies but you have given me inspiration. I think the mojo is coming back. Thanks!

    2. A great fall card. I am loving the idea of the smaller piece of DSP so I can make lots of cards (90) for my nursing home patients with a coordinating color for the dark strip. A great sketch.
