This week's Fun Fold HSDT Video is a fun one that anyone would love to receive! Make your cards "stand out" with this easy-to-make unique Box Stand Fun Fold card for birthdays and more! It folds flat for mailing but when opened, reveals a fun "box stand" feature.
Many moons ago – I did a similar card for a Stamp Camp. The orientation was a "portrait" card and now 10 years later I wondered how a "landscape" card might work/look. So I put on my accountant visor, got out a pencil and went to work play on recalculating the measurements for such a card. When it all came together, I was giddy with delight!
I selected the 2015 Occasions Catalog Specialty Designer Series Paper called Birthday Bash. A closer look reveals some gold foil features on two sheets – which I used on this card.

Thanks so much Dawn!! I just love this card and I do have a couple of graduates so I can use this one for them. It is too adorable!

An awesome card!I love this idea.
Dawn, love all your card and ideas, I followed along using your written measurements on box card(landscape) are your slit measurements correct as written?I think your video stated a different one. I will watch again and see if I can get it. Thanks, Mari
Love this style of card. Thanks for changing it up and sharing with us. I love your very informative videos. You explain things very well.
Mari – I just looked over the measurements again and they should be correct. If you’re still having trouble – let me know.
Glad you guys are enjoying the card and tutorial!!
Gill – You may want to give this card to people “in person”. Or put a little note on the card.
What a fun card – and so easy to make! And thank you for doing the leg work on the measurements. Your tutorials are so easy to follow.
Dawn, any suggestions as how to word the note so people know how to open the card.
Janice, how about…”to reveal the magic of this card…pull up on center panel while pushing the card downwards”?
Dawn,
thank you so much, I love the “magic” part
