Pop Up Petals: 2 for 1 Cut Out Cards

Today I’m sharing a project featuring the Online Exclusives Pop Up Petals stamp set to create a sweet way to get double the creativity from a single die‑cut.

I’m calling this fun little trick – Two‑for‑One Cutout Cards. That’s because when you create a window on the first card, the leftover circle becomes the perfect focal point for a second one. It’s quick, no‑waste trick, and such a satisfying way to stretch your supplies while keeping both cards beautifully coordinated.

💡DOstamping Tips:

• Create your own stamped strips using the Pop Up Petals stamp set:
  • Across the 1/2″ white strip, stamp butterfly image with Berry Burst ink.
    • NOTE: images are alternately stamped right-side-up and upside-down…a simple trick that adds movement and whimsy to the design.
    • Use Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to “color” in the butterflies by blending the color from the stamped images.
  • Across the 3/4″ white strip, stamp flower outline image with Berry Burst ink using the same alternate stamping “technique”.
    • Stamp solid flower image with Berry Burst stamped off first.
  • Adhere stamp strips to Berry Burst cardstock as shown.
• Adhere completed strip onto the folded card base at an angle.
  • Then trim both sides to match card base.

• Use 2-3/8″ Circle Punch to cut a window:
  • Position punch all the way into the right edge of the card front.
  • NOTE: To get the punch to go all the way through ALL of the layers, I place it flat on my crafting table (like shown above) and stood up pushing with all of my weight (using both hands on top of each other) to close the punch.

• On 2″ white circle, stamp sentiment and adhere to inside window with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • NOTE: Angle the sentiment to match the angle of the strips.

Cutout Card #2

• Use the leftover 2-3/8″ circle cut out from Cutout Card #1 and adhere to a Basic White Thick card base.
• Stamp sentiment with Berry Burst ink.
• Finish off both card with the coming soon (May 5) – Sunset Sparkle Sequins
