Stamping with the STARS #311: Spotlighting Technique Inspiration

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Inspiration Hop #DOswts311.  This week we're having fun with the Spotlighting Technique!

OK, I have to admit it.  When I was going through my stamp sets to select just the right image for the Spotlighting Technique, I did not even consider the Dandelion Wishes set.  But for some reason it "spoke to me" and  jumped into my hands.  So I went with it.  I'm glad I did, as I'm happy with the results.

How'd She DO That? Dandelion Wishes card:

• Whisper White Thick (11" x 4-1/4" card base) 
• Whisper White (4" x 3" and scrap)
• Night of Navy (4-1/2" x 3-1/2" and scrap)

Spotlighting Technique Instructions:

• Select a stamp set to use ("outline images" work nicely for this technique)
  • I used Dandelion Wishes
• Stamp image with black or neutral ink
  • I used Night of Navy
• Stamp again with same ink on a scrap piece
  • or a different colored ink for more "solid image" type – I used Mango Melody
• Die cut or punch out only a PORTION of the extra stamped image into a circle (or square, etc) to become the spotlight.
  • I used the 1" Circle and 1-1/8" Scallop Circle Punches. 
• If needed, color the spotlight piece and layer onto a colored cardstock matte.
• Then adhere the spotlight piece over the original image, lining up both images.
