For this week’s #DOswts448 sketch challenge I reached for the Modern Christmas Suite to give this layout a bold, festive twist. With graphic patterns, gold accents, and a touch of twine, this card blends elegance with a modern holiday vibe. It’s a fresh take on festive!

Plus…it was a satisfying moment when I noticed the the new Sign Design Punch fit the sentiment perfectly.

🎨 Design Details That Delight

  • Sentiment (from Ornamental Christmas Bundle) is gold embossing on black. It’s a luxe twist on the sketch’s sentiment label.
  • Heat Emboss by using the embossing buddy (from Embossing Additions Tool Kit) to swipe across black scrap, then stamp sentiment with Versamark ink. Cover with Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder. Remove excess powder, then melt with Heat Tool.
  • Sign Design Punch fits the ‘TIS THE SEASON’ sentiment perfectly—it’s as if the sentiment was custom-designed with this punch in mind! Look for other sentiments that fit this punch too.

  1. My favorite is how the sentiment fits perfectly with the sign punch! I am so excited to see if I can do the same. The card is so fun with the DSP patterns. I am normally a red and green person for the holidays but this black and gold suite is just special.
